The idea
Healthy sitting is active sitting. And that started about 30 years ago with the use of PVC gym balls in many offices, but exercise balls had drawbacks. They rolled away, were sticky, unruly and ugly. With VLUV, we have revolutionized the market since the beginning of 2015 and turned a rubber ball into a comfortable seat and minimalist design object. Since then we have grown to become the world's leading supplier of air-filled seating furniture.
The story
The company was founded in 2009. Kristof Hock, the inventor and owner, started at home at the living room table. An old moped shed was the production location and warehouse at the same time. Today our team has grown to 7 employees. Our headquarters with extensive office and storage space is idyllically located in a more than 100-year-old factory, 40 km east of Cologne. Here we develop, design and sell our stylish products for ergonomics, exercise and sports.
Our values
HOCK Design is an owner-managed family business. We value aesthetics, quality and sustainability as much as a relaxed working atmosphere. What we do, we do with pleasure. We pay attention to detailed solutions in all areas that are as sustainable as possible. Our manufacturers are rigorously selected based on quality, environmental and social standards such as ISO or BSCI certification. All our fabrics have the Oekotex100 standard. Our packaging is constantly being improved. For example, when we introduced our BOL sitting balls, we used 6 plastic bags and now we have reduced this to just one absolutely essential bag.
